This collection is built almost entirely around Seven 'Til Midnight, a Los Angeles-based lingerie label distributed in Australia by Calvista (Melbourne). The range covers intimate bottoms — thongs, briefs, cheeky panties, and lace boxers — plus two garter belt styles and a set of nipple pasties. Current sale prices run $6.95 to $17.95 (regular retail $11.95–$29.95). Sizing spans S/M through 3XL/4XL, covering AU 6 to AU 26. There are no bra sets, teddies, babydolls, corsets, or full lingerie sets in this collection — it is focused on individual bottoms and garter accessories. Free shipping on orders over $100.
What "Galloon Lace", "Lurex" and "Netting" Actually Mean
Seven 'Til Midnight uses five distinct fabrics across this range. The names appear on product labels but are rarely explained on retailer pages. Here is what each one is and how it behaves on the body.
| Fabric | What It Is | Look and Feel | Sheer Level | Products Using It |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Galloon lace | Wide lace with scalloped decorative edges on both sides — the double-scallop is what distinguishes it from standard lace | Structured, slight texture against skin; both edges finished and visible | Semi-sheer | Bianca Rose Panty, Galloon Lace Thong |
| Lurex lace | Standard lace woven with metallic yarn (lurex thread) for a shimmer effect | Subtle shine; slightly stiffer than plain lace | Semi-sheer | Lurex Lace Panty, Lurex Lace Garter Belt |
| Netting | Open hexagonal mesh — wider holes than lace, more structure than fine mesh | Visible wide holes against skin; rough-textured | Very sheer | Netting Cheeky Panty |
| Mesh | Finer, tighter-knit than netting; similar weave to athletic mesh fabric | Smooth, high-stretch, semi-transparent | Semi-sheer to sheer | Laila Fence Mesh Panty, Catalina Mesh Thong, Satin & Dot Mesh Garter Belt |
| Eyelash lace | Lace with looped fringe ("lashes") extending from the cut edges — the fringe is the defining feature | Soft decorative fringe around leg and waistband openings | Semi-sheer | Eyelash Lace Boxer |
Thong vs Cheeky Panty vs Brief vs Boxer — Coverage and Use
Four silhouette types appear in this collection. The difference between them is how much rear coverage they offer and what they look like under clothing or without it.
| Style | Rear Coverage | Fabrics in This Range | Sale Price | Typical Use |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Thong | Minimal — thin string at rear | Galloon lace, lurex lace, mesh, wide-waistband variants | $6.95–$9.95 | No visible panty line under fitted clothing; display wear |
| Cheeky panty | Partial — cut higher than bikini, lower cheek visible | Netting | $8.95–$9.95 | More coverage than a thong while retaining the visible cut |
| Brief / full panty | Full front and rear coverage | Galloon lace, lurex lace, fence mesh | $7.95–$9.95 | Comfort wear; layering under babydolls or robes |
| Lace boxer | Shorts-length — full thigh coverage | Eyelash lace | $7.95 | Sleepwear; cover layer worn over a thong |
Seven 'Til Midnight Sizing — What Each Size Means in Australian Measurements
Seven 'Til Midnight uses a US sizing system that confuses most Australian buyers. The brand offers both individual sizes (L, XL) and paired plus sizes (1XL/2XL, 3XL/4XL). The table below maps each to an approximate AU dress size and hip circumference, sourced from the Seven 'Til Midnight size chart published by authorised stockists.
| STM Size | US Dress Size | Approx AU Dress Size | Hip Circumference |
|---|---|---|---|
| S/M | US 2–6 | AU 6–10 | 86–97 cm (34–38") |
| Large (L) | US 10–14 | AU 14–18 | 97–102 cm (38–40") |
| XL | US 14–16 | 102–107 cm (40–42") | |
| 1XL/2XL | US 16–18 | AU 20–22 | 107–122 cm (42–48") |
| 3XL/4XL | US 20–22 | AU 24–26 | 127–142 cm (50–56") |
Note: there is no STM size bracket covering AU 22–24 (US 18–20, hip 122–127 cm). If you measure in this range, size up to 3XL/4XL. All fabrics in this range are stretch-cut and accommodate the full spread within each bracket. If you are at the upper end of a bracket — for example AU 20 at the top of the 1XL/2XL range — size up.
Size data sourced from the Seven 'Til Midnight size chart via authorised US stockists. AU size conversions use the standard US+4 formula.
How the Garter Belts Work — and What Stockings Are Actually Compatible
Two garter belt styles are in this collection: the Lurex Lace Garter Belt (S/M, black, $15.95) and the Satin & Dot Mesh Garter Belt (3XL/4XL, black, $17.95). Both use standard suspender clips — adjustable straps with a clip mechanism that grips the reinforced welt (thick top band) at the top of compatible stockings. Neither garter belt comes with stockings, and not all stockings are compatible.
What does not work with these garter clips:
- Regular tights or pantyhose — no reinforced welt. Clips have nothing firm to grip and will slip or tear the fabric.
- Hold-up stockings (self-supporting) — hold-ups use a silicone grip inside the welt that holds the stocking to the thigh on its own. You can attach garter clips to the outside of the welt, but the silicone does all the actual holding. The garter straps add bulk without adding security.
- Footless tights — no welt. Same problem as regular tights.
What works: sheer nylon thigh-highs with a plain reinforced welt — sold as "garter stockings" or "non-hold-up thigh-highs". The firm, non-silicone welt gives the clip teeth a surface to grip securely. These stockings are not included in this collection and would need to be sourced separately.
